Describe Gender and Sexuality Across the Lifespan and Access to Healthcare and Public Health Services

Gender and Sexuality Across the Lifespan and Access to Healthcare and Public Health Services Childhood abuse, including sexual, physical, or verbal abuse, can result in adult health issues. Approximately 5% of patients with a history of childhood abuse will report the abuse to a physician but most physicians report that they do not screen for abuse. On average, 20% of men and 25% of women report childhood abuse. (Springer, 2003) Childhood abuse has a consequence of psychological and physical health issues. Psychological ramifications may include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, PTSD, and aggression. Physical health issues may include chronic pain syndromes, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and irritable bowel. Victims of childhood abuse are also more likely to engage in high-risk health behaviors including smoking, alcohol and drug use,and unsafe sex. (Springer, 2003) Childhood abuse is positively related to adult depression, aggression, hostility, anger, fear, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders. Men and women utilize health care services with different degrees of effectiveness. Women are more predisposed to utilize health care services than men. Studies have shown that there is a direct link between thoughts of weakness and rejecting help aspect of masculinity and help seeking behavior. By dismissing their health care needs, men are constructing gender. When a man brags, I haven’t been to a doctor in years, he is simultaneously describing a health practice and situating himself in a masculine arena. (Hunt, 2011) As a result of this masculine social construct, men may under utilize health care services, are less likely than women to seek medical care when they are ill and prefer to tough it out until they cannot handle it anymore. Men’s reluctance to seek health care is a significant barrier to improving their health. Their reluctance to seek care decreases their chance for early detection, treatment, and prevention of disease. Health professionals should move primary care into the workplace to make it easier for men to access health services. Women are more likely to seek health care services than men. The idea that women may seek services more readily and men will hesitate may result in health care providers assuming that women have a lower level of symptom tolerance before deciding to seek. This could affect a providers evaluation of the symptoms, their diagnosis, and their strategy for helping a patient manage their symptoms. Patient gender can influence a doctors’ proposed management strategy. For example, when doctors were shown videotapes of identical symptoms which could be indicative of coronary heart disease, female patients were asked fewer questions and were recommended for fewer diagnostic tests. Doctors were more likely to tune into psychological cues and to search for psychological explanations for symptoms when the presenting patient was female. Gender identification can be a determining factor to varying degrees of effectiveness to health. These can include how a particular gender deals with stress, environmental toxins, and poor nutrition or lifestyle choices. These factors can vary in women, men and any identification in between. Substantive responses to PEERS include discussion extenders such as expanding on the points of discussion in your own words, supported by scholarly references, or providing alternative perspectives supported with scholarly references. Responses to peers could also include reflecting back the meaning of their post to provide context and insight. Avoid simple posts of agreement; if you agree, explain why, and then thoughtfully further the conversation by supporting your answer with authoritative sources, such as references to scholarly articles.

Describe two distinct diverse groups within the U.S. student population.

Introduction: The United States has become increasingly diverse. The unique perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences of students can enrich the learning environment if those differences do not become barriers. As an educator, it is imperative that you become knowledgeable about aspects of culture and diversity, and develop competence in creating an equitable learning environment for all students. In this task you will write an essay (suggested length of 25 pages) in which you explain the importance of diversity consciousness for educators. Requirements: You must use the rubric to direct the creation of your submission because it provides detailed criteria that will be used to evaluate your work. Each requirement below may be evaluated by more than one rubric aspect. The rubric aspect titles may contain hyperlinks to relevant portions of the course. A. Describe two distinct diverse groups within the U.S. student population. 1. To help an educator gain knowledge of each diversity group, cite source information to support your description in part A. 2. Describe a challenge related to the diversity background that each identified group may experience in a school setting (i.e., one challenge for each group in part A). 3. Describe an instructional strategy by which educators can support the educational achievement of students from each of the identified groups (i.e., one strategy for each group in part A). a. Cite source information that supports the instructional strategies described in part A3. B. Explain why it is important for educators to develop approaches that are responsive to the diversity background of all students. C. Acknowledge sources, using in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.

Compare/contrast essay on the short stories: Helix and Newlywed by Yoshimoto

Helix by Banana Yoshimoto explores the boundary between self and other in a love relationship. Newlywed is a story that leads its protagonist to reassess his relationship to his new wife because of a sudden compulsion he feels to break out of his routine, which takes him on an adventure of self-discovery. In what way is a helper figure important in both these stories to allow the protagonist to arrive at an epiphany related to his life, and to pull him out of his self-imposed solitude? Why is reconciliation to another an important idea in Yoshimotos stories, despite the fact that her characters are often strongly individualistic and authentic to themselves? Try to arrive at a thesis that is true to both stories (or alternatively, your thesis could be a comparative statement that looks at the idea of a relationship to a significant other differently in each story). For your body paragraphs, try to find 2 or 3 common techniques that the stories share (depending on how many body paragraphs you are writing); compare the development of each technique across the two stories.

Training Cost Analysis; What is the difference between the results before and after the training expressed in dollars?

3. Develop an estimated Training Cost Analysis (i.e., calculate an estimated Return on Investment (ROI). Many training textbooks list comprehensive ROI methods and you will need to find and use (and cite) one of those models. Most models are very similar. Consider the following (~2 1/2 pages):
1. What are the operational results of your training? That is, what are you trying to improve (refer to your objectives).
2. How will you measure those results?
3. What were the results before training?
4. What are the results after the training? (Since the training has not actually occurred, you will estimate the results.)
5. What is the difference between the results before and after the training expressed in dollars? This is, in effect, your benefit or ROI. The ROI can be positive, negative, or zero.
6. Based on your ROT, discuss the feasibility of conducting your training. That is, is your training worth doing based on the return it will provide?
7. If your ROI was positive, discuss at what point (or at what ROI) it would
NOT be feasible to conduct the training and why.

Obtain/Analyze Sociological Demography

Your school system depends on significant numbers of pre-school and kindergarten children for continued growth. Referring to U.S. Census Bureau data and/or any projected enrollment data maintained by your local school or school district, write a paper addressing the following questions:What are the current population characteristics of your community?
What patterns can you discern in available demographic data over the past five to ten years (select and specify the time span based on availability of data) regarding the following?:
Educational levels of your community members
Income levels of your community members
Household sizes and compositions in your community
Age distributions of community members from birth to senior citizen status
At least one additional category from the bulleted list you assembled for the Pre-Activity that you deem to be of importance. (Specific the category and why you deem it to be important.)
Guidelines for writing The Sociological Demographic Data Analysis PaperInclude an APA-format cover page. Review APA Form & Style
The paper will be 5-7 double-spaced pages in length, using 12-point Times New Roman font. The cover page and reference list are not included in this page count.
You are not required to produce or replicate tables of data but send your instructor links to the data you have analyzed for this project if the information is available in electronic form and in public domain (ie, not password protected).
Begin the paper with a section of Trends and Current Conditions, in which you
describe any changes observed over the years in the seven bulleted characteristics and
summarize the current population characteristics in the bulleted list above
Conclude the paper with a section of Discussion and Recommendations. in which you Include a minimum of one source citation, for the U.S, Census Bureau data
reflect on whether or not you were surprised by any of the demographic data you found, being sure to mention if the trend data helped to explain any recent or past school or school board decisions that have puzzled you, and
reflect on your ranking of items to be included in the sociological inventory that was completed in the pre-activity in terms of whether or not the rankings would change and why – in consideration of what you have learned from census and/or projected enrollment trend data.
Your inventory list and sociological data analysis should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.

Database for DNA Fingerprinting Biotech: Discuss interactions between organisms in ecosystems.

I have provided the other 3 assignments. In this assignment, you will integrate new material written specifically for Assignment 4, with appropriately-edited material from Assignments 1, 2, 3, to form a coherent final paper. Please organize your paper into sections corresponding to the following requirements:1. Introduction. Introduce your biotechnology using appropriately-edited excerpts from Assignments 1 and 2. Explain what the technology accomplishes, as well as your interest in it. 2. Biological basis. Using appropriately edited material from Assignment 2, provide a full and complete description of exactly how the technology works, as well as the key biological principles that underlie the technology.3. Social and ethical implications. Using appropriately-edited material from Assignment 3, provide an analysis of the social and ethical implications of your chosen biotechnology. Use an honest-broker, even-handed approach, without disclosing your personal opinion..4. Personal viewpoint. In this section, use what youve presented in the previous sections of your paper to explain and justify your opinion about the technology. This will provide a final summation and conclusion. [Note: do not bring up new issues in this section. Instead, refer to issues youve covered. If you think of new issues, then add them to one of the earlier sections]. Objectives evaluated by this assessment: Categorize a wide range of organisms, from single-celled to multi-celled organisms.
Describe how organisms acquire and utilize both energy and material.
Describe the cell cycle, cell reproduction and control.
Investigate DNA and gene expression as well as technologies based on our understanding of them.
